Duane, Dan and I paddled out of Albion cove to find beautiful conditions. A very small swell with an amazing 35' of visibility. We did some drops in 30-40' and were happy to find the fish were out and very active. Every drop had 1-3 legal ling cod on the bottom swimming up to check us out. We continued paddling out until we found a nice pinnacle about half a mile off shore. The top sat in 30' and the bottom in 50-60'. I did a drop to the bottom and scanned the side of the pinnacle on my way up and noticed a big wolf eel head sticking out. After a quick breathe up I went down and landed a shot but it ripped out. The small cave was silted up and I figured he was gone. After about 15 minutes I dropped down and noticed he was still in there and shot him again. I landed a head shot but because of the rock backing I couldn't get the flopper to deploy and it pulled out of him. Disappointed, we paddled off a mile or so to go hunt somewhere else. After a few hours of hunting we started back heading in. I looked for the pinnacle and somehow found exactly where we were at and threw my anchor in. I did a drop and incredibly landed right at his cave and saw him sticking out wounded. I shot him a third time and managed to get him out enough to jam the pole spear all the way through him and pulled him up while trying to stay out of his angry chomping jaws.
