Early Saturday morning I went out with my dive buddies Andy Jeffries and Kalvin Cackler chasing larger stripers, my first two dives were mainly warm-up dives. We changed spots and on my third dive I was around twenty feet on my decent to thirty-five feet when I saw a large fish around six feet away. At first it appeared to be a gar but another kick I saw it was a paddlefish and I took the shot. When the shot was taken my gun was nearly taken out of my hand since its only a double wrap Robb Alen with a fifty foot float attached. I let go and held the float line on my way up, around ten minutes with multiple runs from the fish I managed to brain it with my dive knife and get it on the boat. When I was fighting the paddlefish Calvin got a nice eating size striper and Andy got some good photos.
