Myself and the BOTE Boards team were on a work trip to Costa Rica shooting new products. While we were in Jaco, we decided to book a charter with Sean Hascup. I would spearfish while our BOTE Photographer, Sean Murphy, and Videographer, Tyler Trant, captured the action. Right off the bat, we noticed the visibility was amazing and the spot we were diving on was humming with life. Hundreds of jacks spiraled below me with a large school of snapper right below them. I made a dive on the school of snapper a few times, waiting till I could get a decent shot. The first Colorado Snapper I shot was a World Record – 12.5 lbs. After that I shot my first Cubera Snapper then another Colorado Snapper 3 lbs. heavier than the first. We all celebrated my catch the next night with fresh snapper sushi and matching tattoos with our new friends, Sean and Noah Hascup.
