We were fishing a channel and the current was ripping so I did one last check dive on the edge and as I’m diving down it swims right but to me at about 30ft - presenting me the perfect head shot. I was using a small local Palauan top-trigger gun so I needed to get as close as possible. The shot must’ve nicked the brain because for a few seconds, it was stoned. As I pull the line, it comes back to life and starts swimming downwards but not at full strength - the float barely got pulled under. Max handed me another gun to get the second shot anywhere in the body because I was afraid my first shot would slip out. Max got on the boat and asked mur to hand me another gun for the final shot. I took one last dive and stoned it completely and I pulled it over to the boat for the boys to help me get it on.
