Connor, Brian, Cole and myself were all diving an area off the Marquesas Keys. Cole was driving at the time. I jumped off the boat and saw the Red Grouper cruising just under the boat. We knew the world record red grouper was a possibility this trip because multiple very close and larger fish had been landed in the area recently. I yelled up to Cole that the world record was beneath me. I swam down and the fish gave me an easy broadside shot. I did not stone it but easily subdued it alone and tossed it into the boat. The fish was stored on ice and weighed the next morning.
