On the last evening of our shotgun Baja trip we were once again exhausted after a hard day of diving; putting back towards camp with few fish to show for a had days work I suggested we hit one final spot right in front of camp until the sun went down. Reluctantly we all slipped back into the water in the rocky boulder field. 15 minutes into another very quiet dive and I round a corner at depth to see a large green shape materialize from behind a boulder. The fish begins to move horizontally in front of me and then quartering away. Nearing the end of my breath hold I raise my Gat-Ku 10er' up off the boulder and take a solid shot. The fish put up a little tug and then it was all over. I knew this was a monster for a northern Cortez Bump Head!
