We decided to hunt the Frying Pan Tower and explore the surrounding ledges and wrecks that day. After hunting the tower and a few known spots looking for APs we decided to hit a ledge that was productive when we went in December. I took a few dives to the bottom and didn't see anything but small gags and some sandbar sharks. I came up from a dive and took two breaths with Sam Blount right next to me and looked down and saw the hog in a ledge from the surface. I immediately took half a breath and swallowed some water as I didn't want it to go under the ledge and bee lined it for him. He didn't spook at all which surprised me so I got close and nailed him right behind the gill plate. He fought pretty hard and took two runs almost getting beneath the ledge as I swam up. I surfaced and yanked him up and finally realized just how big he was. Sam asked me to hold him up and I tried but sunk under the weight of him. I boated the hog and sighed with relief as there were a few sharks trying to get a taste of the catch. Great day of diving in NC.
