We had been chasing some walleye and my buddy Dusty was filling his limit while I was still trying to find my first fish. I was coming up from 35ft and at about 15ft it starts getting really murky. That's when this fish came right at me, I put the brakes on and brought my gun up for a hip shot. I thought I hit him in the spine and thats when he started towing me away from the boat. After about a hundred yards of that he made a dive and out of fear of having to untangle a fish from a tree in a dark murky lake. I started kicking like crazy trying to keep him near the surface. After his hard dive he expired and came up pretty easy. He wasn't the walleye I was looking for but he is definitely my biggest freshwater fish.
