It was Good Friday 25th of March we headed out fishing around midday the water was quite choppy but my buddy Karim insisted we go to DEAN point which is about 20 miles from the marina and of the coast of Freetown,we started diving at 1:15 my son and I dived together , he went down and I followed him a few seconds later at about 18 meters they was hundreds of jacks with sizes from 5 to 10 KG I went passed my son to check if there where any large snappers a bit deeper, at about 20 meters this big Long Fin Jack Crevalle swam by me I knew its a bigger jack than my current record I took a very good shot with a Riffe Euro110X speargun with reel and started ascending keeping the reel line tight in about 5 minutes after surfacing the fish was between my arms I plunged my dive knife in its head and through it form the back door into the boat I could tell its much bigger than my previous one when we got back to the marina and weighed it it was 16 KG.
