I was reloading my gun after shooting a parrot fish when I noticed a much larger fish breaking off chunks of corral from a large rock below me. I estimated it to be in about 20 feet of water. I breathed up and slowly dropped down to its level but as I did it calmly drifted under some rocks a few yards away. after a short period of time it returned to the rock it was feeding on. I waited for it to orient its body upright so it would have a limited view of me above it and i dove strait down on top of it. As it turned its body to see what i was doing it provided with a great broad side view and I shot for the center of the body as it started to bolt. I had a bit of a struggle keeping it out of the rocks it had hid in before but once I was able to grab hold of the spear shaft it gave up.
